Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join their Neonatal and Pediatric Transport Team. This role involves providing critical care to neonatal and pediatric patients during ambulance and fixed-wing transport. The therapist will assess patients, utilize established transport protocols, and manage respiratory needs including airway management, medications, NIV, and invasive ventilations. The position is based out of the Neonatal and Pediatric Transport Team’s Clarksville Base after orientation. The Critical Care Neonatal and Pediatric Transport Team at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt is a specialized, CAMTS accredited team providing ground and fixed-wing transport to critically ill patients. The team comprises highly trained respiratory therapists, registered nurses, and AEMTs who work collaboratively. This role offers the opportunity to enhance clinical skills and improve patient outcomes during critical moments. Team members practice at the highest level of their scope and cross-train into the nursing role. The team is supported by strong leadership and educators dedicated to a positive work environment, quality patient care, and continuous learning and development. The Nursing Educator and Respiratory Quality Educator work closely with medical directors, the transport team, and leadership to provide necessary education and hands-on training.
