As a Paramedic, you will provide immediate medical treatment to patients presenting with various critical injuries, illnesses and concerns within the Main, Medina, Avon and Twinsburg Cleveland Clinic locations. In this role, fast thinking and processing are essential, as every second counts in an emergency. Your tireless efforts help improve outcomes and make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, their families and your fellow caregivers. A caregiver in this position works rotating days/nights from 6:30AM - 6:30PM or 6:30PM - 6:30AM, with every other weekend and holiday requirements.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic Training Program
  • Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP) in Ohio
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Three years of experience as an EMT-P in a critical care setting as a Flight or Surface Transport Paramedic or in-hospital experience
  • Current Ohio Valid Driver’s License and passport

Nice To Haves

  • International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) Certification and Flight Paramedic Certification within two years of hire
  • Experience in a larger metropolitan area
  • Experience in an Emergency Room or Critical Care Transport

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate medical treatment to critically ill or injured patients throughout the interfacility or scene transport process.
  • Navigate an ambulance to respond to emergency calls.
  • Assess the nature and extent of the illness or injury, administer appropriate emergency medical care, communicate with medical personnel at the hospital, report/record observations and follow directives until report and hand-off at hospital.
