CRITICAL CARE TECHNICIAN-FMLH, FH - NEURO ICU
About The Position
The Critical Care Technician (CCT), under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides delegated age-appropriate care in the Critical Care Units. The CCT assists patients with tasks related to basic nursing skills, personal care, restorative services, and critical care skills, as outlined in their clinical competency assessment. The CCT practices and performs skills learned during CNA training/certification or basic nursing courses. The CCT may also be asked to provide continuous safety observation. This job reports to the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager of the assigned Critical Care Unit and the RNs on duty on each assigned shift. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required, otherwise must be currently enrolled in a nursing program and able to provide documentation from an accredited school for professional nurses indicating successful completion of the basic nursing course which encompass all of the criteria noted by the State of Wisconsin administrative code and a minimum experience of one acute care medical/surgical clinical rotation.
- Completion of the Critical Care Tech course or equivalent within 6 months of date of hire is required.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
