Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Emergency Medical Technician Certificate and IV Therapy Certificate or EMTA or EMTI or Paramedic Certificate
Relevant certifications or experience as a Critical Care Tech, CNA, or medical assistant, ideally in an acute care setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of empathetically interacting with patients and collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

One (1) year healthcare experience (prehospital, ED and/or patient care)

Responsibilities

Perform direct and indirect patient care in collaboration with an RN or Physician.
Facilitate, communicate, and collaborate with the team to meet the physical and emotional needs of the patient.
Place orders, receive & stock supplies for the department/unit.
Assist support staff with filing, medical records and daily tasks as assigned.
Communicate with RN and Physician regarding patient/family observations in an ongoing fashion to assist in the treatment of patients, and communicate concerns regarding hazards or errors related to patients to the health care team.
Perform a variety of technical tasks (i.e., IV insertion, splinting, wound care, etc.) as directed by the RN or physician according to established clinic policies, procedures and standards to provide quality patient care within hospital and/or department guidelines.
Provide person-centered care with sensitivity and respect for the human experience in a collaborative fashion with other team members, assisting the care team in achieving daily patient and family goals.
Accurately and timely document all tasks, observations, and procedures performed on the patient record according to medical and legal standards, and maintain thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records.
Demonstrate effective use of clinical strategies to ensure patient and associate safety.
Collaborate with medicine, nursing, and other healthcare professionals regarding the plan of care, follow-up, and evaluation for the patient and family.
