About The Position

About this unit ICU takes all high acuity patients from medical, surgical, and cardiac. We provide specialized care to our patients providing CRRT and Hypothermia with a nursing ratio of 1:1-1:2 based of acuity.  ICU takes pride in the teamwork and dedication to our patients and families, providing holistic family centered care. About Wayne Hospital Wayne Hospital is a Magnet®-designated facility that provides exceptional nursing and advanced medical, surgical, emergency, and critical care services for patients throughout the greater Wayne area. Serving the region since 1957, this 99-bed, full-service acute care center is the only one in the Wayne, Westland, Garden City, Canton, Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III trauma center and certified by The Joint Commission. The hospital has a long-standing partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a variety of health and communicable disease concerns. Scope of work Under the direction of a Nurse, the Critical Care Technician is responsible for direct patient care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The Critical Care Technician will provide care according to policies and procedures. Maintains critical care equipment and supplies as directed by unit management. Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety and specific job-related hazards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 year experience as a Nursing Assistant
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification required

Nice To Haves

• Current CNA certification preferred.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred
