The Critical Care Technician functions as a clinical support partner in the Critical Care and Emergency Department settings. They assist the patient care team in performing various tasks and procedures for critically ill patients or patients requiring special skills or observation. They act under the direction and supervision of appropriate licensed clinical personnel. The Emergency Department at Spanish Fork Hospital is a 12-bed unit that specializes in Emergency Care. We are a level IV Trauma Center and have a large catchment area that serves south Utah County. We are a busy department that serves to care for a continuously growing population. Critical Care Tech’s (CCT’s) work alongside the bedside nurses in caring for all the patients. In addition to CCT duties, they are trained to insert foleys, IV’s, splints, and EKG’s. Our ED has an incredibly engaged culture that leads to a strong team approach where you will feel welcomed and supported.
