About The Position

The critical care RN functions as part of a team to provide direct patient care in a mobile intensive care setting, with the assistance of other allied health professionals. They transport patients to a higher-level facility and provide advanced care to the most critical. This nursing role offers many unique opportunities for the ideal candidate, including a 1:1 patient ratio, progressive standing orders and medical scope of practice, and utilization of specialized equipment such as Ventricular Assist Device, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), ECMO, and transport ventilators. The role also plays an integral part in the regional Surgical Emergency Response Team (SERT), providing advanced surgical, stabilization, and transport capabilities for patients in the pre-hospital setting. This position offers opportunity for a two-week rotating schedule or a set three day per week schedule. Shifts are 12 hours in length and based out of our facility in Dayton, Ohio. Operational duties include performing regular assigned shift duties, maintaining cleaning standards of station(s), vehicle(s), and equipment, completing detailed patient and operational reporting in a timely manner, participating in continuing education and skill competency programs, and acting as a preceptor and/or participating in the orientation of new employees to cultivate culture and skillsets.

Requirements

Current Ohio Nursing license
CPR, ACLS and PALS certification
Associates degree from accredited school of nursing
Recent nursing experience in an Emergency Department or Critical Care (ICU) setting

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree required within 5 years of employment
Pre-hospital certification and experience as an EMT or Paramedic preferred
Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) and/or Critical Care Register Nurse (CCRN) preferred
