About The Position

ATC Healthcare of Las Vegas is seeking experienced and adaptable Critical Care Registered Nurses (RNs) for a 13-week night shift assignment within a hospital Float Pool. This role requires the ability to provide high-quality patient care across multiple critical care environments, including ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, SICU, MICU, Step-Down, and other specialty units as assigned based on patient census and staffing needs. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, flexible, and comfortable working in fast-paced acute care settings while maintaining exceptional patient care standards.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada or compact state eligibility.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Experience caring for ventilated patients and complex critical care populations.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to changing patient assignments and unit needs.
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Float Pool experience preferred.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred.
  • ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, MICU, SICU, or Trauma ICU experience.
  • Experience with vasoactive drips and hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Proficiency using hospital EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for critically ill and high-acuity patients.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic data, and patient responses to treatment.
  • Administer medications, blood products, and intravenous therapies in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Manage patients requiring advanced monitoring, ventilator support, and critical care interventions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Respond appropriately to medical emergencies, rapid response situations, and code events.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Float to various critical care and progressive care units as needed based on hospital staffing requirements.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and discharge needs.
  • Adhere to all hospital, state, federal, and Joint Commission standards.
