At Emory Decatur Hospital, our open ICU is a 32-bed unit serving as a primary receiving unit for critically ill patients across the hospital. We care for a diverse, high-acuity patient population including those with medical, surgical, neurological, stroke, sepsis, respiratory failure, post-operative conditions, STEMI, and cardiogenic shock. The nurse-to-patient ratio is primarily 1:2, with 1:1 assignments for higher acuity patients, and a maximum of 1:3. We provide a comprehensive orientation program tailored to experience level, with opportunities for specialty certification, participation in rapid response and stroke care teams, shared governance, and professional development.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), AND 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years, OR Recent completion of a re-entry nursing program.
Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past five years.
A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
BLS certification.
ACLS may be required for certain departments, post hire.
Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty.
If completing virtual care activities that may include multi-state practice, an active compact/multistate license (eNLC) is required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Delivers safe, effective, and independent nursing care using the nursing process.
