About The Position

Seeking an experienced Critical Care Nurse Preceptor & Mentor to support and guide new graduate nurse cohorts as they transition into high-acuity and mixed-acuity critical care units. Through structured education, hands-on preceptorship, and mentorship, this RN plays an essential role in fostering clinical excellence, confidence, and professional growth in new nurses. The ideal candidate has a strong background in critical care nursing, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to developing the next generation of highly skilled nurses. This role collaborates closely with unit-based leadership, educators, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience and ongoing professional development. The Registered Nurse delivers patient care across the lifespan, following Kentucky Nursing Laws and hospital policies. Using the nursing process and evidence-based practice, the RN ensures quality outcomes through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN collaborates with the care team, supports shared governance, models lifelong learning, and demonstrates leadership and critical thinking in all aspects of care delivery.

Requirements

  • Active Kentucky License
  • BCLS Required within 90 days of employment
  • ACLS will be required within six months of employment
