UnityPoint Health Downtown - Sioux City provides coordinated clinic, hospital and home-based care for patients in Sioux City and the surrounding Siouxland area. UnityPoint Health Downtown offers a full range of services and programs that includes a state-of-the-art surgical center, 24/7 cardiovascular care, and Level III emergency department. In addition, UnityPoint Health - Sioux City is also home to St. Luke’s College which provides high-quality, health system-based education to individuals looking for careers in health care. Closed ICU Specialists include: Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Nephrology, General-Trauma Surgery, Ortho, Urologogy, GI, Pulmonology, Infectious Disease, Neurology, and more. A 24/7 hospitalist program is responsible for inpatients. Overnight support from APPs.

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Critical Care
• Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
• J-1 waiver sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Average of 8-14 patients per day
• On-site 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with overnight call from home 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
• Flexible scheduling available (7 on 7off, 10 on 10 off)
• Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
• Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
• Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
