About The Position

This pharmacist provides operational and clinical pharmacy services and patient care to adult patients in the Neurotrauma Intensive Care Unit (NTICU), Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), and Step-Down unit. Unit assignments and patient-care rounding experiences vary according to the position outline and involvement in special projects. Approximately 80% of the role is devoted to patient-centered responsibilities in the assigned areas, with approximately 20% spent on committee work, precepting, and special projects. The pharmacist is expected to demonstrate maturity, independence, initiative, and strong communication skills, exemplify CoxHealth’s mission, vision, and values, and follow its policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.S.) required.
• Licensed by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacist, or eligible for licensure and obtain licensure within 90 days of hire.
• Eligibility for licensure requires submission of an application for a Pharmacy License at the time of hire.
• Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) certification, or expected to obtain it within three years of starting the position.
• Demonstrate maturity, independence, initiative, and strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Pharm.D. degree preferred.
• Two years of residency, including a one-year specialty residency in critical care.
• One year of general residency plus two years of current direct-patient care in critical care.
• Five years of current direct-patient care experience in critical care.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and clinical pharmacy services to adult patients in the NTICU, CVICU, CCU, MICU, and Step-Down unit.
• Perform patient-centered responsibilities in assigned areas, including patient-care rounding as applicable.
• Participate in committee work, precepting, and special projects.
