About The Position

Provides educational and/or outreach services to pre-hospital and hospital personnel to support and advance the care of the critically ill or injured patients in the OhioHealth service area. Provides injury prevention education and/or outreach services to the public in the OhioHealth service area. Promote Grant/Riverside as tertiary care referral centers.

Requirements

• High School or GED
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
• EMS - Emergency Medical Service - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
• EMTP - EMTP - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association
• Certified to practice as an EMT-Paramedic in Ohio.
• Basic Cardiac Life support Provider
• Advanced Cardiac Life support Provider
• Basic Trauma Life support Provider
• Pediatric Advanced Life support Provider
• Instructor in ACLS, or PALS.
• National registry as EMT-P.
• Ohio EMS Instructor Certification .
• Instructor or eligible to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life support Instructor.
• Excellent teaching skills, verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of pre-hospital and transport care.
• Expertise in anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and advanced life support skills.
• Basic use of AV equipment (slide projector, VCR, video projector, overhead projector).
• Five years of recent pre-hospital Experience .
• Previous teaching Experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates educational offerings to meet the needs of target audiences in the OhioHealth referral area.
• Assists with liaison activities between EMS units, referral facilities and Grant/Riverside.
• Assists with learning needs assessments, formal and informal, for target audiences, nurses and physicians in the OhioHealth referral area to identify educational needs.
• Utilizes resources needed to implement educational offerings within established budget.
• Focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.
