About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Critical Care APP Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team. This Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider position is eligible for a $15,000 sign-on bonus and $5,000 relocation reimbursement, which will be discussed with interviewed candidates. In addition, hires are eligible for additional compensation bonuses tied to productivity and retention. These positions offer billable hours, shift and holiday differential, and monthly bonuses. The advanced practice provider will be employed by the Department of Anesthesiology within WashU Medicine, a top ranked medical school in the country. The APP will work at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, a nationally recognized Magnet center and ranked among the nation’s best hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, and/or affiliated BJC community hospitals, and telemedicine. Opportunities include cardiothoracic ICU, surgical/burn/trauma ICU, combined medical/surgical ICUs, and telemedicine. ICU work locations will be determined based on the applicant's experience and professional interests. Will practice as an independent provider in collaboration with a fellowship trained intensivist within diverse, skilled, inter-professional critical care teams. The Advanced Practice Provider (Critical Care) provides advanced care to critically ill patients usually in an ICU or Emergency Department or an intensive surgical area required strong procedural skills, critical thinking and the ability to manage high acuity patients independently under the collaboration with an intensivist. Requirements for this role include a master’s or doctoral degree as a Nurse Practitioner (Acute Care certification) or Physician Assistant with concentrated critical care experience or knowledge. Oversees the plan of care ordering tests, medications and treatments for complex conditions.

  • Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or recent completion/anticipated completion of accredited ACNP program
  • APRN licensure (or ability to successfully obtain licensure within three months of date of hire).
  • Active licensure to practice in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, and in good standing (or ability to obtain).
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days.
  • Graduate of PA program.
  • Current PA licensure to practice in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location (or ability to obtain within three months of date of hire).
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days.
