About The Position

Dignity Health Medical Group Nevada is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Per Diem Critical Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic Critical Care team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, strong critical thinking abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current and unrestricted license to practice as a NP or PA in Nevada.
  • Certification by the appropriate national certifying body (e.g., ANCC, NCCPA).
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Certifications in BLS and ACLS.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care setting preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of critical care medicine, including hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, and shock management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to critically ill adult patients under the supervision of an attending physician.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and review of diagnostic studies.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies, imaging, and electrocardiograms.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and established protocols.
  • Administer medications, including intravenous and other specialized therapies.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and make necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in daily rounds and multidisciplinary care conferences.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research activities.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control protocols.
  • Proficiency in intubation, central line placement, arterial line management and thoracentesis.
