About The Position

South County Mental Health Center, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced CSU Supervisor to lead daily operations within our Crisis Stabilization Unit. This middle management role is responsible for overseeing staff, ensuring quality patient care, and maintaining efficient unit operations in a fast-paced behavioral health environment. The Supervisor works with a high degree of independence while collaborating with leadership and multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective client care, staff performance, and regulatory compliance. This role is critical to maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for both clients and staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences (required)
  • 1–3 years of supervisory experience (required)
  • 1–3 years of experience in the mental health field (required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and documentation systems

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Behavioral Sciences
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience in acute care or crisis stabilization settings
  • Medical or clinical background

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily unit operations, staffing, and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage
  • Hire, onboard, train, supervise, and evaluate staff performance
  • Develop staff through coaching, feedback, and performance improvement plans
  • Administer disciplinary actions when necessary
  • Ensure unit compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Maintain adequate unit supplies and oversee facility needs (housekeeping, maintenance, dietary)
  • Monitor and maintain accurate documentation, including reports and incident tracking
  • Oversee client valuables and safe procedures
  • Participate in and support monthly staff meetings
  • Conduct fire drills, inspections, and safety compliance activities
  • Provide on-call support to ensure 24/7/365 unit operations
  • Step in to support staffing needs within scope of practice
  • Lead and direct the treatment team to ensure appropriate care and discharge planning
  • Monitor client legal status in accordance with Florida Statute 394 (Baker Act)
  • Conduct regular chart reviews to ensure quality and compliance
  • Promote best practices in client care, safety, and treatment outcomes
