About The Position

This is more than a leadership role. It's an opportunity to shape the future of crisis services across Many Rivers Whole Health while building strong community partnerships and ensuring individuals have access to high-quality, coordinated care when they need it most. As our Crisis Services Director, you'll have the opportunity to provide strategic leadership and oversight for crisis programs across our service area, strengthen and expand an integrated, accessible, and responsive crisis continuum, build meaningful partnerships with hospitals, healthcare providers, law enforcement, EMS, tribal partners, and community organizations, lead program development, innovation, and continuous quality improvement, support timely access to crisis care, effective care transitions, and follow-up services, develop and mentor crisis program leaders and employees, drive compliance with CCBHC standards, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practices, use data and outcomes to identify opportunities and guide strategic decisions, and make a meaningful impact on behavioral health crisis services throughout the communities we serve.

Requirements

Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Public Health, Behavioral Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
Current Montana professional licensure, such as LCSW, LCPC, or equivalent
Minimum of three years of post-licensure clinical experience in behavioral health, counseling, or social work
Minimum of three years of leadership experience in behavioral health or integrated care settings
Demonstrated experience with strategic planning, partnership development, and compliance oversight
Strong understanding of crisis service models and population health strategies
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and change-management skills
Ability to effectively lead multidisciplinary teams, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
Valid Montana driver's license, personal vehicle, and current vehicle insurance
Must pass Background and Motor Vehicle Record Checks

Nice To Haves

Crisis services experience
Knowledge of CCBHC criteria, service requirements, and compliance standards
Experience with quality assurance, performance improvement, and outcome measurement
Experience developing partnerships with healthcare providers, emergency services, law enforcement, and other community organizations
Knowledge of integrated behavioral and physical healthcare
Familiarity with grant requirements, budgeting, reporting, and resource allocation

Responsibilities

Providing strategic and operational leadership across the agency's crisis service continuum
Overseeing crisis program operations, staffing, budgets, policies, workflows, and service development
Identifying service gaps and barriers to care while leading program expansion, innovation, and continuous improvement
Monitoring quality, operational, utilization, and performance data to guide decisions and strategic priorities
Ensuring crisis services meet clinical standards, regulatory requirements, evidence-based practices, CCBHC standards, and agency policies
Overseeing quality improvement, risk management, incident review, audit readiness, and compliance activities
Building and maintaining strong partnerships with hospitals, healthcare providers, law enforcement, EMS, tribal partners, DCRs, referral sources, and community organizations
Representing Many Rivers Whole Health in community, regional, and state initiatives related to crisis services
Ensuring timely access to crisis services and effective transitions and coordination of care
Leading, coaching, and developing crisis program leaders and employees while promoting accountability and professional growth
Supporting recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development
Using service utilization, outcome, and performance data to identify opportunities for improved access, quality, and sustainability
Supporting the continued development and sustainability of crisis services within the CCBHC model
