About The Position

Center for Community Resources is looking for a compassionate mental health professional to join our Huntingdon/Mifflin/Juniata team as a Crisis Intervention Specialist. Crisis intervention services include telephone and mobile assessments, emergency services coordination, crisis counseling, conflict resolution, and referrals to mental health and drug and alcohol resources. CCR’s mission is connecting people to services, and that’s exactly what you’ll be doing in this role. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field with major course work in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, history, criminal justice, nursing, counseling, education, theology, political science or related field AND one year of experience in the mental health field required.
  • Associates degree in psychology/sociology or related field plus 2 years direct mental health experience.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proof of auto insurance
  • Act 33/34 and FBI clearances will be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Individuals who have accessed human services are encouraged to apply.
  • Degree/course work is Sociology, Social Work, Human Development and Psychology are strongly preferred
  • Be a registered nurse
  • Have a High School diploma or equivalency AND 12 semester credit hours in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Gerontology or other Social Science AND 2 years of experience in public or private human services with 1 year of mental health direct care experience
  • Associates degree with minimum of 12 semester credit hours in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology and Human Development is strongly preferred
  • 2 years of direct mental health experience is strongly preferred
  • One year experience in Crisis Services or in the mental health field preferred with a bachelors degree.
  • Knowledge of de-escalation techniques
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of 302/201 process
  • Knowledge of PA resources.
