About The Position

Riverside Community Care is seeking a passionate Crisis Intervention Specialist (CIS) to join their Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) team. This role involves providing advanced skills in trauma-informed crisis intervention and de-escalation, monitoring facility safety and security, and coordinating responses to urgent and emergency situations. The CIS aims to provide a therapeutic, calming, recovery-based, and pro-active presence within the program. Responsibilities include assisting leadership with safety drills, safety protocols, and facility-related initiatives. While the role requires a 24/7 presence due to CBHC regulations, it is a therapeutic and engaging role, not a typical security guard position. The CIS may also provide other person-served related support as interest and experience allow, such as modeling and teaching skills for positive relationships and conflict negotiation, supporting families and youth in crisis, ensuring safety drills are conducted and documented, maintaining fire safety equipment, and ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of program sites. The role also involves responding to medical and psychiatric emergencies using established protocols, including administering naloxone and CPR/first aid, and assisting with transportation.
