About The Position

The Crisis Intervention Specialist will plan and provide mental health screening assessments, crisis supportive interventions, dispositions and referrals, in consultation with the on-call psychiatrist and or with the coordinator for patients in crisis. This role will also conduct crisis counseling for patients in crisis situations / bereavement, conduct comprehensive clinical assessment, and assess for suicide and homicide risk in the Emergency Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 2 –4 years Related Experience
  • Knowledge of Diagnosis Statistical Manual Of Mental Disorder -Version V (DSM-5) diagnosis and psychotropic medications
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of Crisis Intervention & Prevention.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize & manage multiple projects and follow through to ensure tasks are complete

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree preferred
