About The Position

Riverside Community Care is seeking a passionate Crisis Intervention Specialist (CIS) to join their Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) team. This role involves providing advanced skills in trauma-informed crisis intervention and de-escalation, monitoring facility safety and security, and coordinating responses to urgent and emergency situations. The CIS will maintain a therapeutic, calming, recovery-based, and pro-active presence within the program. Responsibilities include assisting leadership with safety drills, safety protocols, and facility-related initiatives. While CBHC regulations require 24/7 "security" positions, this role is a therapeutic and engaging presence, not a typical security guard role. The CIS may also provide other person-served related support as interest and experience allow, such as modeling and teaching skills for positive relationships and conflict negotiation, providing a calming presence to support families and youth, assisting with safety drills and documentation, ensuring maintenance and cleanliness of the physical plant, responding to medical and psychiatric emergencies using protocols like calling a code, administering naloxone, and CPR/first aid, and assisting with transportation.
