About The Position

Centerstone is a leading nonprofit behavioral health system dedicated to providing life-changing care. As a trauma-informed organization, Centerstone fosters a culture of understanding, recognizing, and responding to trauma to build resilience. This is a hybrid position focused on providing crisis counseling to individuals affected by natural disasters. The role involves offering resource connection, short-term supportive counseling, referrals for long-term counseling, and coping advice to those experiencing mental health crises related to natural disasters (floods and tornadoes) in Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, and Montgomery Counties. This is a grant-funded position expected to last through February 2027.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver's license required.
Experience as a Mental Health Counselor providing clinical screenings, crisis intervention services, or conducting clinical intake assessments preferred.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in a related field of Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
Certified Peer Recovery Specialist preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide telephonic or in-person screenings, risk assessments, resource linkage, and crisis intervention.
Ensure compliance with ethical and clinical standards and all accreditations.
Attend team meetings, in-service training, supervision, and quality assurance training.
Demonstrate high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette.
Provide service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources.
Promote cooperation and collaboration with cross-functional departments, community agencies, hospitals, mental health consumers, and the public.
Assist with administrative tasks as needed.
