The Texans Recovering Together Crisis Counseling Assistance and Training Program (CCP) is structured to provide comprehensive mental health support to individuals affected by disasters. The program employs a range of staff members, each with specific roles and responsibilities, all working towards delivering effective crisis intervention and support. Crisis Counseling Outreach Worker: Outreach Workers provide direct outreach and counseling services, engaging with individuals impacted by the disaster to deliver necessary mental health support. These services are provided in two teams to ensure comprehensive coverage and support. Crisis Counseling Outreach Worker will receive specialized CCP training in short-term interventions that involve the following counseling goals: Help disaster individuals understand their current situation and reactions, reduce their stress and provide emotional support, promote the use or development of coping strategies, connect individuals with other people and agencies who can help in their recovery process. This is a temporary grant-funded position.
