About The Position

The Substitute Crisis Clinician provides services for adults at the Mental Health Urgent Care. The clinician covers shifts due to vacancies and planned or unplanned time off and has the full responsibilities of a Crisis Clinician. Services include in-person and telehealth assessment or intervention for individuals and families identified as being in mental health crisis, whether self-defined or reliably reported. The role conducts mental health status exams, risk assessments, and substance abuse screenings; determines diagnoses to support level-of-care dispositions; navigates the mental health system and makes referrals; coordinates follow-up with providers and other supports; and completes required clinical documentation and record keeping. The clinician independently uses approved de-escalation training to maintain a safe environment and safely manage behavior. This is a substitute position. The listed rate for non-licensed clinicians is $31.87. Vermont regulation requires clinicians without a valid clinical license to be added to the Roster of Non-licensed and Noncertified Psychotherapists before hire.
