About The Position

This position provides crisis intervention and appropriate referrals as needed. The Crisis Clinician works within a multidisciplinary team, communicating effectively with physicians, nurses, and staff. Responsibilities include assessing patients in the Emergency Department or other hospital locations, establishing therapy treatment goals, and administering individual and group therapy. The role also involves maintaining confidential records, evaluating therapy effectiveness, and providing patients with information on community resources and therapeutic activities. Collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and community providers is essential to ensure comprehensive care from treatment initiation to discharge.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Social Science, or Psychology required.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Nice To Haves

Three (3) years experience in an Inpatient Psychiatric unit preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides crisis intervention and appropriate referrals when needed.

Assesses patients in the Emergency Dept or in other hospital locations as appropriate and establishes therapy treatment goals.
Administers individual and group therapy.
Maintains thorough and confidential records of observations.
Evaluates progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions.
Provides patient with information regarding resources and therapeutic activities in the community.
Works directly with the patient, family, physician, and community providers to ensure active and collaborate care from the initiation of treatment to the time of discharge.
