About The Position

Marion County is hiring a Crisis Clinician 2 for its Overnight Crisis Response Team, a non-law-enforcement team consisting of a clinician and a recovery mentor. The team responds to community calls for people needing additional support. The clinician provides mental health consultation, assessment, intervention, and referrals to community supports. The position is stationed and dispatched from the Behavioral Health Crisis Center, and services may be delivered in person or by telehealth, at the office, or in community settings. Typical hours are Sunday through Wednesday, 9:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The position is full-time and eligible for overtime. The Crisis Clinician 2 may have a higher caseload and/or more complex cases than a Crisis Clinician 1. The role provides assessment and treatment services to individuals and families, including crisis intervention and intensive services for people with complex needs and diagnoses. Work is performed using a person-centered, strengths-based, recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and ethical approach. The position works under a supervisor who assigns work, establishes goals, and reviews results. Supervision of others is not normally a responsibility, though the clinician may act as a Clinical Supervisor designee when needed and may assist with supervision of practicum students or volunteers. The position requires a qualifying master's degree in a behavioral science field or specified alternative education and licensure, plus at least one year of full-time post-master's behavioral health experience for the Crisis Clinician 2 classification. The employee must be eligible for Salem Hospital credentialing and obtain an eligible Oregon license or QMHP credential within the first 30 days of employment. This is a safety-sensitive/special-needs position requiring a background check, fingerprinting, pre-employment drug screening, and an acceptable driving history. The assignment is represented by a union.
