About The Position

The Department of Safety, Community Corrections Division is seeking a Criminal Justice Services Re-entry Program Manager to join their team. This position will manage the day-to-day operations of Denver’s Project:Elevate residential community corrections center, which serves up to 55 adult women in residence as well as a small post-residential population. The agency administers alternative to incarceration programs including pretrial services, in-home detention, and residential community corrections facilities. Project: Elevate utilizes a trauma-informed, gender-responsive approach, emphasizing mentorship, individually tailored programming, and engagement with the community. The Community Corrections Division encourages candidates who reflect the diversity of the participants in the program and criminal justice system to apply. A background investigation is required, and prior contact with the criminal legal system is not exclusionary for most applicants, provided the candidate is not under current criminal justice supervision. Applicants must be willing to work non-traditional shifts and workdays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Management, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of full performance professional level experience developing, implementing, and administering programs.
  • One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of posthigh school education for all classifications.
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
  • Motivation to work with high risk/high need clients and ability to demonstrate a healthy working alliance with clients to assist them with behavior change and risk reduction
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Experience working in Community Corrections
  • Knowledge of research and interviewing techniques sufficient to be able to determine what information is needed, secure and analyze desired information, and formulate logical recommendations
  • Consistent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Commitment to working collaboratively within a team to ensure work is completed timely
  • Must complete a background investigation
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional shifts and workdays
  • Must have valid work authorization that does not require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Daily management of a residential program for women returning from incarceration
  • Creating connections that foster community relationships for wraparound services to facilitate ongoing behavior change
  • Establishing relationships with community organizations which provide clients with opportunities for mentoring, resources, and community support
  • Demonstrating an expertise in community re-entry
  • Operationalizing and oversee all programming
  • Reviewing client records for placement
  • Monitoring and assessing fidelity to the Standardized Offender Assessments – Revised (SOA-R)
  • Monitoring compliance with the Division of Criminal Justice Community Corrections Standards and Contract requirements
  • Maintaining staff training records
  • Communicating with oversite and partnering agencies
  • Providing direct supervision to all program staff
  • On-going mentoring, coaching and training of Core Correctional Practices for staff
  • Modeling pro-social behaviors and providing on-going behavior change feedback to clients
