Criminal Intelligence Analyst - Limited Service
About The Position
The Vermont Intelligence Center is hiring a Criminal Intelligence Analyst to play a vital role in advancing public safety and homeland security efforts across Vermont. This position will primarily focus on international and domestic terrorism, and critical infrastructure resiliency. This is a dynamic role that supports collaboration across agencies and helps ensure that Vermont’s communities remain safe and resilient. This is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized through 06/30/2027. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or higher in criminal justice, data analysis, public administration, or related field.
- Three (3) years or more of experience in law enforcement, records case management, public safety systems, or public safety research.
- Must pass a department conducted background check.
- Must pass a federal secret clearance to retain employment.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and Access
- Proficiency with any analytical software.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and gather information from multiple sources.
- Provide case support to criminal investigations.
- Analyze and interpret intelligence related to crime and security concerns.
- Develop written intelligence products that inform decision-makers and partner agencies.
- Present intelligence briefings to law enforcement, elected officials, and other local, state, and federal stakeholders.
