We are seeking a Criminal Defense Paralegal — an experienced, highly organized legal professional who can effectively support attorneys in complex criminal defense matters while maintaining professionalism, urgency, and compassion with clients throughout the legal process.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of paralegal experience required
- Strong understanding of court procedures, filings, and legal documentation
- Ability to communicate professionally with clients in stressful or emotional situations
- Experience using legal case management software and Microsoft Office
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and detail-oriented in high-pressure situations
- Sense of urgency and accountability with deadlines and case progression
- Professional, dependable, and highly responsive
- Compassionate client communication paired with strong execution and follow-through
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced criminal defense environment
Nice To Haves
- Criminal defense experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing high-volume or fast-paced legal caseloads
- Experience preparing attorneys for hearings, motions, and trials
Responsibilities
- Draft motions, pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Manage and organize case files, discovery, evidence, and court records
- Coordinate hearings, court dates, filings, and attorney calendars
- Communicate directly with clients regarding case updates, deadlines, and requested documentation
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, witness coordination, and hearing preparation
- Request, review, and organize records, discovery materials, body cam footage, and evidence
- Maintain accurate case notes, deadlines, and file management within case management systems
- Communicate professionally with courts, clerks, prosecutors, law enforcement agencies, and opposing counsel
