Criminal Defense Attorney – Missouri Licensed
About The Position
Do you have a passion for courtroom advocacy? Do you aspire to represent individuals and make a difference in their lives? Our firm is currently seeking a Missouri-licensed Criminal Defense Attorney with the ability to navigate court proceedings, engage with clients, and conduct consultations with leads. The ideal candidate possesses courtroom experience and strong interpersonal communication skills. We welcome applications from both recent law school graduates and practicing attorneys with a background in criminal law. Our “ Responsible Attorneys” manage a caseload based on jurisdiction. You will report to our Supervising Attorney and work closely with our Client Care Team to ensure clients are fully informed about the status of their cases.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active Missouri law license (required)
- Strong typing and technology skills
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and database software
- Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-up skills
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Professional demeanor and strong people skills
- Flexibility, initiative, sound judgment, and discretion
- Growth mindset and openness to utilizing technology
Responsibilities
- Conducting evidentiary hearings, depositions, and trials
- Meeting with clients to discuss discovery and negotiate pleas
- Communicating with prosecutors, judges, and court representatives
- Participating in docket calls in state and municipal courts
- Performing legal investigations and preparing legal documents
- Handling consultations with leads and assisting in signing them up
- Attending legal proceedings, conducting legal analysis, and providing legal advice
- Collaborating with clients and colleagues to resolve cases
- Counseling clients on legal options and negotiating on their behalf
- Managing case files and ensuring updates are accessible to attorneys, paralegals, and staff
