About The Position

Employee performs duties normally associated with LPN license in the CRF/ARF facility operated by a community behavioral health center. Services are provided to adults and children. Completes nursing examinations, assessments, implements plans, and evaluates patient status under the review of an RN. Provides nursing care; discusses medical changes with the patient; monitors vital signs, CIWA/COWS, administers medications and monitors for effectiveness, or signs of adverse reactions to medications. Provides medication and diagnosis-related information to patients, and answers questions as appropriate. Reviews patient medical charts and transcribes and/or prepares documents for doctor or APRN review and signature Maintains comprehensive and timely documentation including daily nursing notes. LPN provides work direction to technicians during shift.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Florida.
  • Ability to pass a level II Background clearance and drug test.
  • Valid FL drivers’ license, insurance, and safe driving record.
  • Possess excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills required to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Must maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct, while adhering to agency policies and procedures; including HIPAA and 42-CFR confidentiality standards.
  • Ability to use a computer, including an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, in collaboration with other community partners.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations and display appropriate work demeanor and boundaries.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to facilitate positive communication with patients, treatment team, family members, community representatives, and other stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two (2) years’ of experience, preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health or substance use diagnoses, preferred.
  • Knowledge of recovery is an asset.
