About The Position

City Light & Power, Inc. (CLP) is seeking qualified candidates for a Crew Supervisor position at our Travis Air Force Base location. This position oversees the crew during construction, maintenance, and repair of energized overhead distribution and/or transmission systems; additionally, the Crew Supervisor will perform journeyman level medium and high voltage electrical functions on the electrical system. This is a supervisory/hands-on position. CLP has built a reputation as an innovative, reliable, and responsive private Utility Development Leader. We support the federal government, military institutions, municipalities, and major utilities across the US, with financing, design, engineering, construction, ongoing operations, maintenance, and ownership for electrical transmission, distribution, generation, and microgrid systems, as well as architectural, sports, and industrial lighting systems. CLP guarantees 40 hours of work every week.

Requirements

  • Experienced with Overhead and Underground Distribution line work, hot sticking, and rubber gloving.
  • Primarily works out of an insulated aerial lift (bucket truck) on energized OH Distribution circuits.
  • Operates Insulated Aerial Lifts (Bucket Trucks), Digger/Derricks, Pulling & Tensioning Equipment as well as other industry standard tools and equipment.
  • Digs holes & trenches, sets poles, climbs poles, strings wire, installs equipment and tests systems.
  • Works with various types of tools; hand, battery, electric, hydraulic, gas-powered, etc.
  • Follows safety standards and procedures to ensure work is complete without incident or injury.
  • Must have Journeyman Lineman Card or verifiable work experience.
  • Minimum of four (4+) years of experience working with utilities, in the electrical OH distribution field.
  • Valid CDL license with excellent driving record preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize technology in completion of duties.
  • Previous crew supervision experience required.
  • You must be a US Citizen.
  • Become signatory to local union IBEW 1245 and pay IBEW 1245 required dues.
  • You will be required to obtain military base access security clearance.
  • Must have valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A).

  • Valid CDL license with excellent driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works scheduled and unscheduled overtime, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/needed.
