About The Position
Now Hiring: Crew Member / Laborer – Erosion & Sediment Control. Looking to work outdoors, learn valuable construction skills, and grow with a fast-paced, expanding company? Join the SpreadRite team! We’re hiring Crew Members to help install erosion and sediment control systems (like silt fences and inlet protection) on construction sites throughout the Birmingham area — and beyond. As a Crew Member, you’ll work alongside a close-knit team to install and maintain erosion control solutions that protect construction sites and the environment.
Requirements
- Some experience in construction, landscaping, or a similar field
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and a clean driving record
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working outdoors in hot or cold conditions
- Must be able to walk long distances and work in physically demanding positions (kneeling, bending, squatting, etc.)
Nice To Haves
- Experience installing erosion control measures or BMPs (like silt fences and inlet protection)
- Familiarity with light construction equipment
Responsibilities
- Installing and repairing silt fences, inlet protection, turbidity barriers, and other BMPs
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and light equipment (e.g., trencher, ride-on blower, skid steer)
- Driving a company vehicle and hauling a trailer safely
- Assisting with additional tasks as needed
