About The Position

This position supports various aspects of theatre productions, focusing on assisting children in developing skills and confidence through theatre. The Crew Member will help lead rehearsals, manage participant check-in/out, supervise breaks, organize production materials, and maintain the theatre space. The role also involves providing general support to the Director and Stage Manager to ensure smooth rehearsals and performances, fostering a positive and encouraging environment for participants of all ages and abilities. The ideal candidate is reliable, enthusiastic, and comfortable working with children. This is an at-will position.

Requirements

• Ability to run simple line and song run-throughs with actors during rehearsal downtime.
• Previous experience interacting with children is required.
• Strong and effective communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Friendly yet assertive demeanor to maintain classroom behavior and interact with parents is important.
• Ability to maintain discretion with regard to confidential matters and/or information.
• High school graduate or equivalent, is required.
• Proficient in MS Outlook or other email system for communication purposes is required.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

Nice To Haves

• Some college coursework and/or other related training and/or experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus but will be provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Leading line and song run-throughs during rehearsal downtime.
• Checking participants in and out.
• Monitoring participants during break times.
• Organizing bios and headshots for the program.
• Maintaining a clean and organized theatre space.
• Providing general support to the Director and Stage Manager.
• Assisting theatre staff with coordinating tech rehearsals and performances.
• Assisting with costume piece creation and basic craft tasks.
• Assisting with prop creation and organizing.
• Assisting with simple set creation aspects when needed.
• Supervising children during rehearsal breaks.
• Performing other duties as assigned to support the production process.
