The purpose of this classification is to lead small teams to perform semi-skilled work in the maintenance of the parks, golf course, cemetery, and department facilities. This role involves performing general laboring tasks, assisting supervisors to ensure quality work, and potentially assuming a lead role on team tasks. The position requires operating a variety of trucks and equipment, inspecting equipment and work areas for safety hazards, and performing various maintenance tasks such as mowing, weeding, edging, sod laying, mulching, planting and trimming trees, seeding, and debris removal. Additionally, the role includes cleaning and performing preventative maintenance on department facilities, managing litter and trash receptacles, shoveling snow, pressure washing, and painting. The Crew Leader may also assist with special events and schedule facility use.
