We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Crew Chief to join our Survey team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing survey operations at various sites, ensuring quality checks, and assisting with engineering design duties. Your expertise in data processing and analysis will be essential in supporting fieldwork and leading the survey crew.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent in education and experience.
5-10 years of survey crew chief experience including land boundary and topographic surveying.
Valid driver’s license.
Proficient with TXDOT Standards/Code lists and other survey requirements.
Strong communication and organizational skills with an attention to detail.
Strong computer skills.
Project management skills.
Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
Leader who is flexible and adaptable with excellent project organizational skills.
Good problem-solving ability and use critical thinking and data while leveraging technical skills.
Above average communication skills both oral and in writing resulting in providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

Leads the Company’s field survey team in the field and supervises additional staff members assisting in survey assignments.
Performs the following types of surveys: ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, Route Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Construction Staking and Transportation projects for both public and private clients.
Performs complex surveying calculations using engineering calculator, laptop computer, and coordinate geometry software.
Adheres to QA/QC procedures and notetaking.
Follows work orders from project managers.
Proficiency with Leica GPS and Robotic Total Stations.
Drives Company vehicle to and from worksites.
Reviews and follows project scope, keeping all project information and electronic files well organized.
Completes all assigned tasks in a timely fashion, be diligent in field procedures and always maintain company standards.
