About The Position

A prominent mid-sized law firm in New York City is seeking a Senior Counsel/Partner-level Attorney to join their mission to build out their Bankruptcy & Creditor’s Rights practice group. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate with a portable practice or strong business development potential seeking a collaborative platform with sophisticated restructuring, insolvency, bankruptcy litigation, and creditors’ rights matters.

Requirements

  • Approximately 7–12 years of experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, insolvency, and creditors’ rights matters.
  • Experience representing lenders, creditors, trustees, debtors, purchasers, and/or financial institutions in complex bankruptcy and workout matters.
  • Strong familiarity with Chapter 11 proceedings, distressed transactions, commercial litigation, and out-of-court restructurings.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating bankruptcy-related pleadings, financing agreements, restructuring documents, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and independently handle sophisticated matters.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills required.
  • Admission to the New York Bar required.

  • Portable book of business of $500k - $750k.
  • Portable business preferred, though candidates with strong growth potential and referral relationships will also be considered.
