About The Position

AB is seeking a Fixed Income Trader for its Investment Grade Credit Desk within the Global Fixed Income Trading team. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to the Investment Grade investment teams and the broader credit and fixed income platform. The position reports to the Head of US HY Trading and works closely with senior bond traders, portfolio managers, analysts, and quantitative research colleagues. It is based in Nashville or New York, with collaboration across teams in New York, Nashville, London, and Hong Kong.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in a credit trading role.
• Strong academic credentials and a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, precision, and a risk management mindset.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience in a collaborative, team-based, results-oriented environment.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply them practically.
• Self-starter with a proactive approach to idea generation and continuous process review and improvement.
• Experience leveraging top LLM models to develop unique insights for data-driven processes.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in US Investment Grade or High Yield markets is preferred.
• Programming skills, primarily Python and SQL, are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance an in-depth understanding of fixed income markets and the investment philosophies and strategies of the portfolios.
• Execute orders and source liquidity in accordance with best execution and risk management practices, policies, and procedures.
• Support the investment process by working with senior traders, portfolio managers, and analysts, and sharing market views in weekly and monthly investment strategy discussions.
• Work with senior traders on projects that improve trading and investment process efficiency and mitigate operational risk.
• Gather, analyze, and disseminate market and security information to identify actionable trade ideas and investment opportunities.
• Represent AB with the street, foster new sell-side trading relationships, and leverage existing relationships.
