Requirements

  • Knowledge of finance and accounting usually acquired through formal education or experience is required to analyze and evaluate financial statements.
  • Analytical and communication skills are required to determine credit risk and to prepare credit presentations.
  • Personal computer skills are required to prepare Excel financial spreadsheets and Word documents.
  • 1-5 years in credit/financial analysis on companies.

Responsibilities

  • Manages credit risk for a portfolio of commercial credit clients and monitors loan performance to ensure that loan quality adheres to guidelines.
  • Supports Relationship Managers through financial/credit analysis.
  • Researches and analyzes pertinent financial statements.
  • Evaluates a company’s financial risk, business risk, and overall creditworthiness.
  • Prepares written credit memoranda for credit committee approval.
  • When required, presents verbally at credit committee.
  • Collects all necessary client prepared information and completes client financial statement spreadsheets and projections of a company’s financial condition.
  • Evaluates financial and nonfinancial covenants for credit facilities and monitors covenant compliance.
  • Reviews legal documentation and provides periodic updates of company credit quality to Credit Policy.
  • On an on-going basis, monitors client loan portfolios to ensure that loan quality adheres to guidelines.
  • Conducts due diligence through company lender meetings and/or discussion with relationship managers.
  • Travels to client locations as required. Travel is expected to be minimal.
