About The Position

As a member of the Credit team, you will play an integral role in the effective monitoring and management of retail credit usage with Raymond James Ltd. You will utilize your experience in the securities industry and risk management knowledge to ensure accounts are maintained within established regulatory and internal requirements.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of fundamental investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the Canadian securities industry;
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, pressure environment while maintaining a high level of client service;
  • Superior analytical and proactive problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail;
  • Well-developed interpersonal and customer service skills with previous client service experience working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing proprieties with highly developed skills in organization, multi-tasking, and prioritizing of tasks;
  • Managing difficult conversations in a professional and constructive manner;
  • Proactive in self-development and continuous learning to achieve required knowledge objectives;
  • Demonstrate email, videoconferencing, and telephone etiquette and relationship management skills at all levels of the organization;
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office with a willingness and ability to learn new applications;
  • Minimum 3 years of Canadian securities industry or related financial industry experience;
  • Post-Secondary education with a focus in Business/Finance/Economics;

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Dataphile or similar applications;
  • Previous experience working in Operations at an investment dealer firm with a focus on margin account maintenance and portfolio reviews is an asset;
  • Canadian Securities Course, Conduct and Practices Handbook, or related courses are an asset;
  • Verbal and written proficiency French is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and regulate debits in Margin, Cash, and RRSP accounts for assigned branches;
  • Authorize EFT, wire transfer, and cheque requests based on risk management;
  • Review client portfolios for margin/credit related issues (security/sector concentration risk);
  • Approve internal transfers, account transfer-ins, as well as third party requests and stock withdrawals;
  • Assist in monitoring and approving trades on the Order Routing System for trade restricted accounts;
  • Respond to queries from all departments relating to Credit policies and procedures and regulatory rules;
  • Prepare regular capital reporting for Finance department based on CIRO capital requirements;
  • Review third party requests to ensure policy adherence and perform AML sanction screening;
  • Participate in department initiatives and projects related to the Credit department and overall Operations division; and
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
