About The Position

Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in conducting credit investigations and collecting delinquent accounts of customers by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

  • Financial statement analysis is also required.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to apply sound credit principles while recognizing the need for sales volume.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of accounting software; Microsoft Excel and Word experience also required.
  • Experience in client server-based software, i.e. PeopleSoft or SAP, etc., and experience in running queries are also required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Consideration and fairness in dealing with people.
  • Emotional stability in handling unpleasant situations with tact and diplomacy.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses creditworthiness of new and existing customers by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information to establish credit limits.
  • Monitors customer accounts and communicates with customers to resolve payment issues and disputes, negotiate payment plans, and ensure payments are made on time and in accordance with the established terms.
  • Collaborates with Sales and Finance teams to optimize credit processes and facilitate sales growth and cash flow.
  • Proactively requests updated information and makes recommendations on potential credit risks.
  • Arranges security instruments: Letters of Credit, Guarantees, and UCC filings.
  • Implements appropriate steps to collect delinquent accounts, including holding of shipment, 3rd party collections, legal suit, etc. as required.
  • Reviews doubtful accounts to determine collectability or need to be written off.
  • Assists management in the formulation of credit policies.
  • Identifies and champions business process improvement to support the credit function.
  • Manages job performance, training, mentoring and coaching of one or more Credit Assistants and/or Senior Credit Assistants.
