About The Position

Weather Shield is seeking a Credit Associate to join their team at the Medford, WI office. The Credit Associate is responsible for processing credit applications, maintaining customer files/data, and daily customer interaction via phone and email for payments and collection. This position is part of the Weather Shield Finance team supporting dealer accounts. This is a full-time position that works Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM at the Medford, WI corporate office.

Requirements

  • Associates degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; one-year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong computer background.
  • Demonstrated flexibility in work schedules as needed to meet the needs of the business.
  • Ability to speak and write professionally.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and communicate documents such as releases, bulletins, technical and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and respond effectively regarding credit related procedures.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as product pricing, discounts, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply the understanding needed to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software applications.
  • Ability to navigate web-based applications proficiently with credit related systems.
  • Typing skills are required.
  • Must be outgoing with good communication skills.
  • Proficient data entry, mathematical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with people in a variety of situations and show good judgment.
  • Will become familiar with company credit and sales policies and obtain general product knowledge.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and/or post high school education in accounting, banking or credit is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process credit applications and prepare folders.
  • Call or email trade and bank references for credit information.
  • Work with Regional and Territory Managers as dealer needs arise.
  • Request financial statements, guarantees and/or other security as needed, run credit checks.
  • Request and file tax exemption certificates.
  • Analyze information and prepare customer summary.
  • Notify customers/territory reps of account status.
  • Create the customer master file, scan and file paperwork.
  • Do daily account maintenance.
  • Do annual and other account rechecks as needed.
  • Handle collections of assigned accounts.
  • Enter credit memos.
  • Apply daily cash payments and process credit card payments.
  • Respond and assist with questions regarding accounts and set up issues.
  • Review credit holds and release orders to production.
  • Communicate verbally, in person and on telephone.
  • Analyze, enter and verify data.
  • Write correspondence.
  • Set up files and file information.
