About The Position

The Credit Associate I supports the Credit and Collections function by evaluating customer creditworthiness, monitoring accounts receivable, and assisting with the timely collection of outstanding balances. This role works closely with internal teams and external customers to ensure accurate account management while helping minimize financial risk to the organization. This position is well suited for someone early in their finance or accounting career who is detail-oriented, organized, and interested in gaining hands-on experience in credit, collections, and accounts receivable.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 0–2 years of experience in credit, collections, accounts receivable, or a finance-related role
  • Basic understanding of credit principles and financial concepts
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred
  • ERP system experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Review and process new credit applications, ensuring all required information is complete and accurate
  • Perform basic credit analysis using established guidelines and tools
  • Set up and maintain customer accounts within the system
  • Monitor accounts receivable and identify past-due balances
  • Conduct collection outreach via phone and email to resolve outstanding balances in a professional manner
  • Document all collection activities and customer communications thoroughly
  • Assist with resolving billing discrepancies and disputes in collaboration with internal teams
  • Support credit limit reviews and updates based on payment history and risk evaluation
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to the Credit and Finance teams
