Requirements

  • Basic understanding of loan products and delinquency processes.
  • General knowledge of collections practices and member account management.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive or difficult conversations professionally.
  • Active listening skills with the ability to understand member situations and respond appropriately.
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain a positive member-focused approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and account updates.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple accounts follow-ups and deadlines.
  • Basic problem-solving skills with the ability to identify appropriate next steps within established guidelines.
  • Ability to work under general supervision while following established procedures.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with daily call expectations.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining professionalism and composure.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and the ability to navigate multiple systems.

Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with members to resolve past due accounts through both outbound and inbound collections calls.
  • Review account details.
  • Meticulously document all activities.
  • Diligently follow up on payment arrangements.
  • Collaborate with your team to ensure that all accounts are managed timely and accurately.
  • Assist members while protecting the integrity of the credit union.
  • Uphold standards of financial services collections and regulatory compliance.
