About The Position

Mountain West Bank is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to work in our beautiful downtown Boise location! The Senior Credit Analyst is an advanced-level position responsible for supporting the bank’s commercial credit underwriting and portfolio management functions. Under the direction of the Commercial Underwriting Manager and Commercial Analyst Team Lead, this role analyzes complex financial data, prepares credit authorizations, conducts commercial credit reviews, evaluates real estate collateral, assists in portfolio management, and coaches team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 4 or more years of credit analyst experience in banking
  • Knowledge of GAAP and financial analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service, organization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and technical aptitude

Responsibilities

  • Independently spread and analyze complex borrower financial statements, tax returns, and related financial information.
  • Perform advanced ratio, trend, and cash flow analysis.
  • Assist in evaluating borrower repayment capacity, guarantor strength, and collateral adequacy.
  • Support preparation of credit memorandums, loan presentations, and approval packages.
  • Assist with annual credit reviews and ongoing portfolio monitoring.
  • Track borrower financial reporting and covenant compliance requirements.
  • Help identify early warning indicators and escalate concerns to the Commercial Analyst Team Lead or Commercial Underwriting Manager.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and compliant credit files.
  • Ensure credit analyses and documentation adhere to bank credit policy and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist with loan reviews, audits, and regulatory examination requests.
  • Maintain established service level standards and comply with internal policies, procedures, and applicable banking laws and regulations.
  • Work closely with Commercial Relationship Managers, Credit Analysts, and Credit Administration.
  • Participate in training and ongoing coaching provided by the Commercial Analyst Team Lead and Commercial Underwriting Manager.
  • Develop foundational knowledge of commercial loan structures, underwriting standards, and risk management practices.
  • Assist with mentoring less experienced credit analysts as needed.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
