Visit: https://careers.fitch.group/content/Credit-Analysts/   Role Overview: Fitch Ratings' U.S. and Canada Corporates Rating group is looking for a Senior Director to join our Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals team. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating corporate debt issuers while contributing to Fitch’s reputation for timely and insightful research that informs debt capital market decisions. This role entails serving as a primary analyst and may also include some managerial responsibilities. Qualitative credentials will weigh meaningfully in the selection of the candidate. A healthy sense of intellectual curiosity is critical, along with a willingness and ability to attack and explain topics of analytical complexity. Fitch is a team-oriented work environment, so excellent management, leadership, team development and communication skills are essential, as is a high productivity work-ethic and results oriented mindset.

Requirements

  • 10+ years relevant experience in a capital markets and/or credit analysis role which must include some coverage or knowledge of the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors
  • A keen sense of intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning and a proven ability to dissect and articulate complex analytical topics
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing, mentoring and developing people and teams is a plus and a collaborative approach to a team-based work environment
  • The agility to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
  • A Bachelor's degree is essential; an MBA, other advanced degrees, or a CFA designation is a plus
  • Some travel is necessary, as is adherence to Fitch's Onsite Flex time in office policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Have extensive corporate credit experience, with strong capabilities in financial analysis and modeling
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of fixed income/debt capital markets, with varied experience in both investment grade and leveraged finance a plus
  • Have a network of professional relationships within the debt capital markets and healthcare and pharmaceuticals sectors
  • Have proven success in nurturing talent and developing junior analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Cover a portfolio of 15-20 companies across investment-grade and speculative-grade ratings
  • Articulate Fitch’s credit views and sector outlook in meetings, conference calls, and industry roundtables, as well as in written research, in an engaging and dynamic manner
  • Be a highly visible presence for the external stakeholders in the ratings process, including industry management teams, private equity sponsors, buy-side and sell-side analysts, and the media
  • Participate in the evaluation of other credits within Corporates, as well as other related credit groups
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment and contribute to the overall ethos of the U.S. and Canada Corporates rating team in a manner that prioritizes and advances Fitch’s strategic goals.
