About The Position

Through the use of financial statements, tax returns,  and projections, analyze the creditworthiness of existing and prospective consumer and commercial borrowers.  Prepare Credit Memos, including credit analyses, financial statement spreads, strengths and weaknesses, and summaries of loan requests in preparation for Loan Committee and/or Board of Directors approval.     Monitor all loans for potential deterioration in creditworthiness and make recommendations within Loan Policy guidelines with respect to risk grades and loan classification.     Monitor macroeconomic trends and conditions in borrowers’ specific industries, and make recommendations with respect to external issues that may affect the borrower. Identify and offer potential solutions to mitigate risk. Prepare credit analyses for complex existing and proposed C&I and income-producing CRE credits. Assist lending staff and junior analysts with applying underwriting and loan structuring best practices. Continuously monitor loan portfolio for potential deterioration in creditworthiness, and make recommendations to senior management with respect to risk grades or other actions. Accompany Loan Officers on customer calls if requested. Participate in weekly Loan Committee meetings. Assist with preparing annual stress test of the loan portfolio. Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Principles and application of UCA cash flow
  • Analyzing and interpreting the components and application of the cash conversion cycle
  • Reading and understanding real estate appraisals, real estate leases, rent roll turnover analysis, and advanced concepts of income-producing CRE
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with focus on quality and integrity.
  • Strong oral and written communication, with effective interpersonal and relationship management skills to engage individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Assertive, results driven, self-motivated, with the ability to effectively plan and manage multiple projects.
  • Flexible and adaptable to the workplace environment (work is generally independent and collaborative in nature).
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis in finance, economics, or accounting.
  • 5+ years of experience as a bank credit analyst or similar field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
