About The Position

The Credit Analyst II supports the commercial lending function of Foresight Bank through analysis of financial information to support the Bank’s credit approval process and management of the credit portfolio. The Credit Analyst II works closely with relationship managers, credit personnel, and management to document repayment capacity for all borrower types. This documentation includes written loan proposals for discussion in loan committees, as well as other financial analysis as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field or relevant banking experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in the administration and analysis of commercial loans including experience in structuring and evaluating loan participations, credit relationships, and analyses of direct loans.
  • General understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Capacity for assessing and interpreting numerical data and describing effectively in narrative format.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to address situations by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of banking products, services, policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with bank management and functional groups.
  • Interact with others positively and build relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Meet underwriting completion deadlines as established by the Bank.
  • Meet underwriting quality expectations

Responsibilities

  • Prepare written analysis for new commercial loan applications, with documentation of borrowers’ financial strengths and weaknesses. The analysis will include an assessment of the borrower’s cash flow, liquidity, leverage, collateral, guarantor support, and industry.
  • Gather information on current and prospective borrowers through inquiries and investigations with trade suppliers, financial institutions, professional firms or individuals, and in-house information.
  • Input financial statements into a financial software application and analyze reports produced by the application.
  • Timely preparation of loan proposals and financial analysis.
  • Accurate analysis of financial data.
  • Active participation in loan committees and credit meetings.
  • Complete understanding and application of loan policies and lending directives.
  • Management of the Bank’s renewal and annual review pipelines.
  • Credit portfolio management activities as determined by bank and credit management.
  • Assist with structuring of standard loan transactions.
  • When applicable, provide credit expertise during customer/prospect calling efforts.
  • Manage special projects.
  • Maintain compliance with and adhere to all state and federal regulations and bank policies and procedures, including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, FACT ACT, Community Reinvestment Act, and EEO/AA/Fair Employment Practices.
