Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or three to seven years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth background in accounting skills.
  • Experience with the credit analysis of financial statements and tax returns required.
  • Strong reasoning and writing skills to communicate well-supported rational for credit decisions and actions.
  • Strong math skills; calculate interest, proportions, and percentages; balance amounts; locate routine mathematical errors, compute rate, ratios and percentages.
  • Intermediate knowledge of general acceptable accounting principles, budgeting, and related accounting and record keeping systems in a financial institution.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and communicate clearly to clients and employees.
  • Strong word processing and spreadsheet skills.
  • Strong knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and Bank policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of loan documentation and necessary supporting requirements to perfect collateral position.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Experience with one or more of the following (or similar) software products is preferred: DCI iCore core system, Finastra LaserPro documentation software, AccuSystems documentation retention software and BakerHill NextGen statement spreading software.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in guiding, mentoring, and training team members on loan systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform financial analysis, including trend analysis, ratio analysis, and cash flow analysis for individuals, commercial entities, and real estate entities.
  • Prepare detailed credit approval packages for management, identifying risks, proposing covenants, and assessing loan risk ratings.
  • Research credit inquiries and UCC filings to determine creditworthiness and collateral positioning.
  • Monitor client relationships for compliance with credit standards through monthly portfolio monitoring.
  • Perform pre-qualification assessment and analysis of financial condition and risk for financing requests.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the financial industry, economy, market conditions, rates, vendors, and competition.
  • Assist relationship managers with loan closings and client meetings.
  • Participate in community and business functions to promote a positive bank image.
  • Provide excellent internal and external service.
  • Maintain a professional work environment, demeanor, and appearance.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Assist in managing system-produced exception reports and collecting post-closing and annual monitoring requirements.
  • Coordinate and complete annual reviews of lending relationships and periodic covenant testing.
  • Assure loan compliance and procedure quality controls are maintained.
  • Assure loan risk ratings remain accurate.
  • Develop and test policies and procedures for accounting records and report preparation.
  • Work with credit administration to recommend and implement operational changes.
  • Support the bank’s consultative process for relationship management.
  • Assist loan administrators and relationship managers in planning for loan closings and ensuring approval conditions are met.
  • Assist loan administrators and relationship managers in reviewing loan documentation prior to closing.
  • Assist the Senior Credit Officer with portfolio reviews, including stress testing, concentration monitoring, and policy exception tracking.
