About The Position

Completes customer due diligence and analyzes of borrower’s industry and financial information with oversight. Prepares spreads, written analysis and supporting underwriting exhibits, providing a comprehensive financial analysis of the borrower and guarantor’s financial condition to approving officers. Approvals will include documenting repayment capacity, industry comparisons and projections analysis when necessary. Independent analysis and production of both commercial C&I and CRE customers. On occasion, joins credit officers and commercial banking officers on client calls. Analyst will complete annual reviews with larger exposures and complexity levels to maintain asset quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • Equivalent education and 2+ years as a Commercial Credit Analyst or similar credit/underwriting/financial services position experience are also acceptable.
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of traditional financial analysis with the ability to interpret data while researching, analyzing and drawing conclusions
  • Ability to read loan documentation, understand loan structures and read/understand financial statements along with having a financial wellness acumen
  • Ability to maintain a strong knowledge of loan policy and procedures
  • Ability to identify key trends during analysis and maintain critical thinking
  • Ability to use a loan origination system/spreading software
  • Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to make decisions effectively and handle conflict resolution with confidence
  • Team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment while developing, nurturing and leveraging relationships, both externally and internally, to accomplish results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and experience in loan origination systems is a plus.

  • RMA Courses such as (not limited to) Analyzing Business Tax Returns, Analyzing Personal Finance Statement and Tax Returns, Cash Flow Analysis – UCA Fundamentals, Commercial Real Estate Lending, Accounting and Ratio Analysis, The Business of Commercial Banking, Ethics and Decision Making, Borrower Analysis: Qualitative Factors, Balance Sheet Analysis, Income Statement Analysis, Combined Balance Sheet and Income Statement Analysis or other trainings through American Institute of Banking are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and detailed analytical memorandums on customers within portfolio for general industries and commercial real estate. Analyst will complete various exposure level deals which could include officers loan committee level deals. These memorandums will include annual reviews, renewals and new money deals.
  • Analyze financial statements, prepare spreads and cash flows, complete modifications, waivers, and change memos as needed.
  • Complete on-going training sessions in order to continue to expand knowledge.
  • Travel and other duties as assigned
